The Ranked Choice Voting Resource Center (RCVRC) is a division of the Election Administration Resource Center, a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. RCVRC provides information, research, and tools to teach the public about ranked choice voting (RCV). When the Resource Center was initially conceived, the team sought to develop a content-rich site to create a single space to share ideas, develop best practices, overcome hurdles, and deliver exceptional election administration. With decades of election administration experience and experience overseeing RCV elections at all levels of government, our team now focuses on expanding the resources and information available about this voting method. The work of the RCVRC covers many different RCV matters in an accessible and actionable way. The cornerstone of our Resource Center is our website which houses resources from research to webinars and podcasts to ballot design and more.
Additionally, our staff offers RCV consulting services, expert testimony, and implementation guidelines. Our nationally recognized center is regarded as the premier RCV resource for voters, election administrators, policymakers, and candidates. For additional information or to request assistance with RCV, please email us at info@rcvresources.org or call us at 1-833-VOTERCV (868-3728).
MISSION STATEMENT
We help make ranked choice voting elections successful.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND JUSTICE STATEMENT
At the RCVRC, we envision an equity-first society, both in the world of democracy and beyond. To make this vision a reality, we strive to center diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in all aspects of our work and our organization.
RCVRC acknowledges the historical and systemic barriers, particularly the role of racial bias and discrimination, that have led to inequitable outcomes and disparities in nonprofit spaces, democracy spaces, and elsewhere. We stand against all forms of discrimination on the basis of color, immigrant and indigenous status, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation, or disability; however, we know that advancing equity requires more than just opposing discrimination. As such, we are continuously developing and refining a strategic action plan to actively dismantle barriers to equity and advance our DEIJ goals.
We are committed to incorporating the following principles into our work:
● Elevating the voices of stakeholders who come from communities that have been historically underrepresented and silenced;
● Building a racial justice lens into all of our democracy programs;
● Engaging diverse communities as partners in our work;
● Actively hiring, recruiting, and making efforts to retain staff and board members that come from underrepresented or marginalized communities;
● Centering justice and equity as primary factors in all decisions and actions taken by our organization.
We know that naming these dynamics is not enough, and we remain committed to proactively carrying our DEIJ journey forward without an “end goal” but in the spirit of continuous improvement.
